Bosch Diffusion Welding Machine

The system described here was designed for the following use:
Diffusion welding machine for connecting the armature lead to the commutator of a starter armature using diffusion welding.

Diffusion welding unit (also known as polymer diffusion welding unit, diffusion welding, copper soft welding unit, copper strip welding unit), consisting of a main machine and control system, PLC control, touchscreen operation.

Process Description

The workpiece carrier enters the station and is lifted.

The alignment gripper picks up the armature from the workpiece carrier and aligns it according to the welding position.

The loading gripper picks up the armature and places it in the welding chuck.

The welding chuck moves with the armature into the welding position.

The contacting unit and welding cylinder move together, and the first weld is performed.

This process is repeated until the armature is completely welded.

The welding chuck moves with the anchor into the transfer position, and the unloading gripper picks up the anchor and places it on the raised workpiece carrier.

The workpiece carrier is lowered.

Workpiece carriers with OK anchors continue on the conveyor system; NIO anchors are sent to the removal conveyor.

At a welding machine, the OK anchors are marked with a color on the end face of the commutators using a stamping station. This allows for identification during the final inspection of which welding machine produced the anchor.
